Veterans ensuring a bright future for solar industry
The future of renewable energy in this country is in capable hands. The Solar Foundation released a report this week that nearly ten percent of the nation’s solar sector employees are veterans. This report is the first of its kind, and in addition to highlighting the contributions of vets to various U.S. solar projects, it also gives backgrounds on some of these individuals, explaining how they came to work in this field after their service.
The research in this report spans from pay scales to the industry’s outlook on hiring. A staggering 62 percent of solar companies are anticipating more new hires in 2014, with only 2 percent expecting to scale down their operations.
