Energy Companies BidURenergy and Energy Curtailment Specialists to Spur Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Buffalo, NY – November 15, 2012 – Energy Curtailment Specialists (ECS), one of the nation’s largest and longest-tenured demand response providers, alongside their sister company, BidURenergy (BUE), one of the most experienced energy consulting firms in North America, are working to contribute donations to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts for the hardest hit areas: New York and New Jersey. Just three weeks ago, the “Superstorm Sandy” struck the east coast, leaving devastation in its path. With over one hundred lives lost and counting, thousands of homes and buildings damaged or totally destroyed, and tens of thousands of people still without power, the road to recovery is a long and arduous one. The storyline here is very clear. People need help and they need it now.

The ongoing efforts to relieve the areas affected by the storm are gaining momentum, but resources are limited. The estimated price tag for restoration of the east coast could reach to be more than $50 billion, which is why Energy Curtailment Specialists and BidURenergy are stepping up to do their part. For each and every new customer that enrolls in its programs from November 15th through December 31st, ECS and BUE will be donating $100 to the Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts. This money will be dedicated to four Hurricane Sandy Relief organizations in the name of the enrolling companies. To address healthcare services where they are most needed, ECS and BUE will be contributing to Direct Relief International’s Hurricane Sandy Relief & Recovery. This organization has set up emergency support for multiple healthcare facilities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens as well as throughout New Jersey. For the animals of NY and NJ that were left behind and in desperate need of aid, we will donate to the Humane Society’s Disaster Relief Fund. ECS and BUE will donate to the New York City Rescue Mission, an organization that provides meals to New Yorkers afflicted by the storm. ECS and BUE will also donate to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, to help mend and rebuild the desecrated communities of New Jersey.

“We have longstanding relationships with thousands of businesses throughout New York and New Jersey. The devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy is almost beyond comprehension. We want to ensure that we are doing our part to contribute to the restoration efforts there. It is vital that they get the supplies and services they need so that they can repair not only the physical damage, but the emotional as well.” – Glen Smith, Principal, Founder of BidURenergy and Energy Curtailment Specialists.
